Just over nine square miles, Isola del Giglio — pronounced geel-yo — is the second-largest of the Tuscan Archipelago, the string of seven islands said to have been formed by the scattered pearls of Venus' necklace. We will eat lunch at a renown restaurant on a cliffside terrace. Explore a village at the peak of the island and on the list of Italy's most beautiful villages:) Hikes nearby.

Palazzo Borghesi is a special B&B located right in the heart of the historic center of Siena, The Palazzo was built in the 14th century, and has been restored and preserved over time, and decorated with period pieces and art. The place is all ours for the week, and we can make the living room and terrace our home to enjoy in privacy.

PRICING AND ACCOMMODATION
The total cost of this trip is 4250 euros per each person based on double occupancy ; priced in euros due to fluctuating currency valuations (calculation will be made 90 days prior to tour). A $500 non-refundable deposit per traveler is required to secure space on the trip. The balance is due 90 days prior to the start of the trip.
ACTIVITY LEVEL
Travelers should feel comfortable walking two to four miles each day and remaining on their feet for periods of time. There are a couple of hikes on uneven ground. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on during cooking workshops.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
For flights in and out of Florence airport, we suggest you arrive anytime after 3 p.m. on Day 1 and let us arrange a taxi or train to Siena where we will meet you and shuttle you by car to the palazzo (our home for a week!). Depart the palazzo by 11 am checkout on Day 8. We’ll provide the option of booking additional nights at our the palazzo before and/or after the tour.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS
We encourage an adventurous palate! We try our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, though ingredients cannot always be substituted or omitted from particular dishes. Although vegetables are common, this region is not very vegetarian friendly. We can accommodate a gluten-free diet on this trip. If you have other food allergies or intolerances, please contact us to find out if this is the right trip for you.
NOTES ON ITINERARY
Itineraries and daily schedules are subject to change. We expect to do everything listed in the itinerary, though the order may be rearranged based on weather or other local conditions.
CANCELLATION POLICY
You may cancel 90 days before the start of the trip and receive a full refund minus a $500 per-person service fee. If you cancel on or after 90 days there is a 100% cancellation fee. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases of family/medical emergency or cases of the trip being canceled.
Siena is considered one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval cities, and walking through the historic center feels like stepping back in time. The fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, presiding over by the Palazzo Pubblico with its tall bell tower, is especially enchanting.
A culinary kickstart food tour of Siena city with a local guide starts right after your afternoon check-in/arrival. On this private food tour, you'll get to know Siena through its favorite food spots of the locals and includes city highlights for a good city orientation. Later on we will have dinner in Siena
